Building up a Child’s Faith

People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”  Luke 18:14-18

At my baby shower for Olivia, we received a very thoughtful gift from a sweet, godly woman in our church–a painting of this very scene. It’s of Jesus, with open arms, happily greeting little ones. I love that his face is toward the people instead of you; your focus is on his actions, his welcoming.

Emerging from the House

…humming title of this post to “Master of the House”….

We’ve been hit hard with all sorts of ills the last couple of months, and I am happy to say we seem to be over it. I know I’m probably speaking too soon…{pausing to see if Liv is going to start coughing as if on cue}…but yesterday was the first time in a few weeks that the girls and I all felt energized and ready to get back to our post-holiday routine. As much as I love pajama days, too many of them make for major cabin fever.
